Garlic Purple Hardneck
Purple hardneck is a Creole type that gets its namesake from the purple skin of its cloves. These globe shaped bulbs have white wrappers and yield 8-12 cloves per bulb. The flavor offers high sharpness and intensity without heat, making it great for eating raw. Creole type garlics are later to mature and perform better than other hardnecks in regions with warmer winters. Scapes can be harvested and used for cooking before the garlic itself is actually harvested. Long term storage. Hardiness Zones 5-9. Bulb size 1.5-2″.
